Chinese Evergreen Silver Bay is one of the most elegant and understated plants in the Chinese Evergreen family. Its broad, glossy leaves are a cool silvery-green with a lighter silver-grey wash through the center that creates a soft, two-toned effect. The pattern is refined and sophisticated rather than bold, making it a natural fit for modern, minimal, and contemporary interiors. And as with all Chinese Evergreens, it is one of the most adaptable and forgiving houseplants you can own.
Good for beginners? Yes. Chinese Evergreen is one of the best beginner plants available. Silver Bay is particularly forgiving of lower light, inconsistent watering, and average home conditions.
Safe for cats and dogs? Chinese Evergreen is toxic to pets if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs.
Light needs: Low to medium indirect light suits it beautifully and the silvery tones stay most refined. It tolerates lower light better than almost any other variegated plant. Avoid direct sun which can bleach the pale silver coloring.
Care at a glance: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Wipe leaves occasionally to keep them glossy. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F.
Ships fresh from one of our two greenhouse locations in a nursery pot. Covered by our 30-Day Plant Guarantee. Free shipping on orders $149+.
